Yesterday, when I left the house, it was a bit hot (93*F) but clear. When I was about an hour away and turned back, the sky had darkened and T-storms were closing in.
Yikes! I plotted a different route home, and made it to my driveway before the first raindrops hit, but in the past have not been so fortunate. SO.........

I like the idea of live weather (WX) to guide me around the nasty stuff.
Does anyone have a recommendation on a GPS unit with live WX reporting capability?
I've had Garmin auto GPS's for years, and am generally happy with them.
I've read conflicting reports on Garmin's 665LM (now discontinued... why?) that has XM WX (available with XM subscription).
Any experience with them?
Any newer models that haven't been abandon by manufacturer?
Any other favorites?

So, really? There are no opinions?
That's a first!

Never thought of getting one with up to min reports. You just need a waterproof satnav here in the UK cos you know at least that function will be used. Dodging rain here is not an option.

I can see the use for such reports but its not that handy if you have a set course. When touring I don't book hotels - this way I can just change route and head for the sun.

I was just looking at some with this same feature earlier. I too would be interested in hearing from users with experience in this area. I saw one Garmin unit that somehow tapped into traffic cams and showed live images of a chosen cam in a split screen to the right.
